on financial accounting
One of the first lessons taught to me during MBA, and which I greatly appreciate, is financial reporting. Being an engineering student, accounting wasn't my language, and to some extent, while i thought it won't be a problem since I was never scared of numbers anyway, I appreciated the fact that with this subject matter, I was able to appreciate how a simple mathematical ratio could be interpreted to provide information on the financial situation of a company. It was really an eye-opener course, and something that I realize I could use in the coming years, especially if and when I decide to put up my own business.
